By 2015, Forrester Research estimates that as many as 3.3 million U.S. jobs and $136 billion in wages could be moved to such countries as India, China, and Russia.

Meta Group predicts that offshore outsourcing will grow by more than 20% annually, pushing it from a $7 billion market in 2003 to a $10 billion market in 2005. The group also foresees all application outsourcing services, including the offshore component, reaching $15 billion by 2007.

The vast majority of respondents are either "somewhat satisfied" (49.2%) or "very satisfied" (39.7%) with their outsourcing partner's performance. Only 1.6% reported being "very dissatisfied".

Nearly one in five companies in Western Europe is thinking about offshoring activities to a foreign country in the next two years, according to a study by British real estate group Cushman and Wakefield. The survey revealed that 15% or respondents were considering offshoring their call center operations. Among the regions considered were Eastern Europe, other western European countries, China, India, Latin America and South Africa.

Indian revenues from call centers have grown an estimated 107% over the past year. Indian call centers employ over 120,000 people today.

Labor costs for setting up a call center in the U.S. works out to $57,600 a year, compared to $8,640 a year for setting up a similar facility in India.

"To get high-quality service levels from top-tier vendors, customers should expect to pay in the $24 to $30 per hour range for offshore labor..."

Industry experts predict that by 2015, offshoring by the US companies would represent $135 billion in wages and 3.3 million professional jobs.

According to India Infoline, the ITES-BPO segment recorded a growth of 59% in the year 2002 and touched US $2.3 billion in the year 2003.
According to Gartner, a market research firm, the size of the global BPO market by 2007 would be $173bn, of which $24.23bn would be outsourced to offshore contractors. Of this, India has the potential to generate $13.8bn in revenue.

North America will remain the dominant market for ITES-BPO services, accounting for nearly 60 percent of the total ITES-BPO market in 2006. The Western Europe ITES-BPO market is expected to account for 22 percent of the market by 2006. The Asia Pacific ITES-BPO market is expected to account for 18 percent of the total ITESBPO market in 2006.
